| Some players will join a clan solely to loot all of the rare/useful items from a clan stash. This is not something a nice person would do, but it is something that people tend to do a lot.
The clan karma system is in place precisely to prevent this sort of thing from happening. If you're a clan leader, wise and judicious limits on your clan members' karma will prevent looting. Know your clan members and don't give them access to the stash until you are sure they can be trusted.
It's also a good idea not to keep super-rare or valuable items in your clan stash, such as Mr. Store items, Mr. Accessories, or ultrarare items like the hypnodisk and Crazy Bastard Sword. Use kmail and secure trading to share those items among your clan members.
Because we provide a system for clan leaders to prevent looting, we will not attempt to recover any items from a looter, and will not punish looters. Taking items from the clan stash isn't scamming -- it's the way the clan stash works.
