| The most important way to keep your account safe is to not have an easily guessed password. In this day and age, you’d think we wouldn’t have to say this, but we do. 99% of people who say “OMG my account got hacked” just had someone guess their password.
There has not been a single instance of an actual account hack in at least a year. If someone was able to access accounts to which they didn't have a password, they wouldn't go after you, they'd go after us.
So please, please make your password hard to guess. Don’t make it the same as your login name. Please, sweet lord, don't make it “password1” or “123456.” Make it your mom’s maiden name plus your dog’s age, or something.
